Valentine’s Day doesn’t look the same for everyone—and at Kaleideum, that’s something worth celebrating.

This February, Kaleideum is kicking off Valentine’s weekend with a thoughtfully curated series of experiences designed for the many ways people connect, celebrate, and belong. From sensory-friendly programming to family-centered festivities and an adults-only night out, Kaleideum’s Valentine’s weekend reflects its mission to inspire wonder, curiosity, and lifelong learning—while ensuring access and inclusion remain at the heart of everything it does.

An Inclusive, Sensory-Friendly Evening

Valentine’s weekend begins on Thursday, February 12, from 5:30–8:30 pm with Exceptional Night at the Museum: Hearts & Crafts.

Exceptional Night at the Museum is a bi-monthly event during which children and adults with intellectual, developmental, and physical disabilities—along with their families and caregivers—can enjoy the wonders of Kaleideum in a less crowded, more supportive environment. These evenings offer inclusive, adaptive programming that allows guests to experience the museum at their own pace.

During Hearts & Crafts, guests can celebrate Valentine’s Day through carnival games, making Valentine’s cards, hands-on science demonstrations, and a Digital Dome dance party designed to delight without overwhelm. The evening reflects Kaleideum’s deep commitment to accessibility and its belief that everyone deserves meaningful opportunities to play, create, and connect.

Exceptional Night at the Museum: Hearts & Crafts is $5 per person and free for members.

A Valentine’s Celebration for Families

On Friday, February 13, from 6–9 pm, Kaleideum welcomes families for its Family Valentine’s Dinner & Dance, a sweet evening designed for families to enjoy side by side.

The night begins with a family-friendly dinner catered by Gathering Grace, offering families time to sit, connect, and ease into the evening together. From there, the museum opens up for playful exploration, including a Valentine’s scavenger hunt that leads to a surprise box of treats, family games, animal encounters, and creative stations where children can make paper flower jewelry and a thumbprint keepsake to take home.

To wrap up the night, families are invited to hit the dance floor as DJ Hek Yeh turns up the energy with a joyful, family-friendly dance party—ending the evening on a high note filled with music, movement, and big smiles.

From dinner to dancing, this Valentine’s celebration is all about connection, creativity, and making memories together.

The Family Valentine’s Dinner & Dance is $25 per person for members and $30 per person for non-members.
Registration ends at noon on Thursday, February 12. REGISTER HERE

Friendship Takes Center Stage on Valentine’s Day

Valentine’s weekend concludes on Friday, February 14, from 6:30–9:30 pm with Kaleideum After Dark: PALentines, an adults-only evening that reimagines Valentine’s Day as a celebration of friendship, creativity, and connection.

Who says Valentine’s Day is just for couples? PALentines invites guests to come with their besties, a favorite plus-one, or ready to make new connections. The evening features live music, creative experiences throughout the museum, nostalgic games reimagined in the Digital Dome, hands-on artmaking in La STEAM and the Try It! Studio, free caricatures, and playful moments designed to spark laughter and conversation.

Kaleideum After Dark events underscore the museum’s belief that curiosity and creativity are lifelong pursuits—and that adults deserve space to play, explore, and connect, too.

Kaleideum After Dark is a 21+ event presented by Flow Lexus.

Tickets are $20 online and $25 at the door, and include two drink tickets for beer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages. For this February Kaleideum After Dark, guests may also use one drink ticket for a specialty cocktail.
