Hours and Admission

Admission Prices

  • Adults:  $15
  • Youth (Ages 1-19): $12
  • Seniors (Ages 62+): $13
  • Ages 11 Months and Under: Free
  • Members: Free
  • Educators (with valid ID): Free
  • Military Personnel (with valid military ID) receive $2 off admission during the school year. 
  • Kaleideum’s Digital Dome shows are an additional cost: $3 for members; $5 for non-members per show.

For information on homeschool rates, click here. On Saturdays, summer months, school holidays, snow days, and teacher work days, regular admission rates apply. Please bring your Registration Record, Verification Card or Letter of Intent to receive the discounted rate. Homeschool discounts do not apply to children under the age of 5.

Museums for All

Kaleideum is part of the Museums for All program. SNAP/EBT cardholders and WIC cardholders can show their EBT or WIC cards along with a photo ID to pay only $3 per person admission for up to six people. Cash or other payment must be provided for admission.

  • Sunday: 10 am-5 pm

Summer Hours – (Memorial Day-Labor Day)

  • Monday-Friday: 9 am-5 pm Open to the Public*
  • Saturday: 10 am-5 pm
  • Sunday: 10 am-5 pm

*During the school year, Kaleideum is only open for a full day on Mondays when Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools are CLOSED (for example, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day). During the summer, the museum is OPEN for a full day on Mondays starting on Memorial Day and ending on Labor Day. Please call ahead if you are unsure if Kaleideum is open or closed. 

Blue Star Museums

Blue Star Museum: Kaleideum is part of Blue Star Museums, a collaboration among the National Endowment for the Arts, Blue Star Families, the Department of Defense, and more than 2,000 museums across America to offer free admission to the nation’s active duty military personnel and their families from Armed Forces Day through Labor Day. A list of participating museums nationwide is available at arts.gov/bluestarmuseums.

Kaleideum's Digital Dome

Each afternoon, Kaleideum’s Digital Dome offers staff-led planetarium shows, a captivating musical laser matinee, and an inspiring educational movie.  Reserve your tickets at the Welcome Desk. $3 for members; $5 for non-members.

Important Parking Information

Kaleideum does not have dedicated parking, but we’ve partnered with the Liberty Plaza Parking Deck to offer an all-day parking pass for just $4. These all-day parking passes can be purchased at our Welcome Desk. Otherwise, standard parking rates are $2 per hour.

Parking on the RED level of the parking deck allows for easier and quicker access to the museum!

To use the discount all-day parking pass when exiting the parking deck, follow these steps:
 
  1. Scan the ticket you received upon entering Liberty Plaza Parking Deck.
  2. Scan the all-day parking pass purchased at Kaleideum’s Welcome Desk.
