Needles Knit for PeaceFourth-grader Mary Alden Luttrell and third-grader Mayah Ding visited SciWorks on September 25 to bring a $50 donation for SciWorks’ Adopt-an-Animal program. The girls gave the check to Kelli Isenhour, Director of Education for SciWorks, and the money will be used for Rascal the Raccoon’s new outdoor habitat.Mayah Ding and Mary Alden Luttrell donate $50 to SciWorks Adopt-an-Animal program.

Mary Alden and Mayah started a business called “Needles Knit for Peace” in which they knit and sell hats, scarves, pillows and more. The proceeds from their sales are going to three non-profit organizations, including SciWorks.

SciWorks and Rascal are very grateful to these enterprising students who care. For more information about “Needles Knit for Peace” or the Adopt-an-Animal program, please contact Jennifer Hudson, Director of Development, at jhudson@sciworks.org.
