On Thursday, October 25, SciWorks celebrated our 2012-13 Partners in Science — the individuals, foundations and corporations who donate so generously to SciWorks at the $1,000 and above level.
We invited our donor families to come “Take Flight” at the new SciWorks exhibit and enjoy a picnic dinner, much of which was donated by Mountain Fried Chicken. Families enjoyed making paper airplanes, rockets and helicopters and launching them in the different machines of the interactive exhibit.
Former American Airlines pilot Charles Pitt helped families learn more about the principles of aeronautics in the exhibit and demonstrated some paper airplane launching.
