Animal Encounters

Meet Kaleideum's Animal Ambassadors

Join us every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday in ‘Our Nature’ at 11:30 AM. Our Animal Care specialists will introduce you to one of our animals and share all the best facts with visitors!

Recommended for Visitors of All Ages. Be aware that snakes and other reptiles will occasionaly make an appearance.

Motion Commotion

Step into the Try It! Studio at Kaleideum and get moving with hands-on activities that explore the science and creativity of motion! From mark-making machines to stop-motion creations, discover how movement, momentum, and imagination come together in playful experiments and interactive making.

November 1-2: Create animated drawings.

November 8-9: Experiment with simple machines.

November 15-16: Design a balancing animal.

November 22: Create a Huey-inspired puppet.

November 23: Help a turkey escape on a zipline.

November 29-30: Gear-inspired creations.

Little Innovators

Little Innovators is a hands-on program for young children that sparks creativity and curiosity through fun stories, art, and science activities.

Nocturnal Animals | November 12, 3:30 pm

Whooooo is that? Investigate animals that only come out at night as we use our senses to practice echolocation, build a den, and create spooky shadows of our own.

Mini Meteorologists | November 29, 10:30 pm

Let’s get weather-wise as we explore the seasons of the year by building our own anemometers, creating clouds in a bottle, and even making an indoor snowstorm!

$5 per ticket. (Ticket includes one adult with one Pre-K Innovator. Adult must attend with child.) Museum admission is not included.
