Hands-on learning awaits...
Back in February (which seems like eons ago) and with special thanks to Collins Aerospace, Kaleideum had a great time facilitating this Invention Convention Worldwide activity. We thought we would share as it’s a fun challenge for a cloudy, chilly day!

Challenge:
You’re stranded on an uninhabited tropical island. Make a shelter that’s at least 6 feet off the ground and can hold the weight of five people. Protect yourself from the elements and predators!
Materials:
5 sheets of cardstock or thin cardboard
Rubber bands
Toothpicks
Tape (2-3 feet)
Scissors
Five marbles
It’s okay to substitute materials but limit what your child can use. (Especially when using tape!)
