With all this cooking at home, you probably have a lot of empty egg cartons. Why not make them into adorable little insects … you’ll want these cute bugs in the house!
Materials Needed:
- Empty egg carton
- Scissors
- Paint/markers/crayons/stickers
- Construction paper
- Glue
- Sticks
Steps:
- Insects are known by their segmented bodies — that means an insect’s body is made of several separate sections. Empty egg cartons are great for insect creations because of all the bumps! Before you begin, do a little research. What types of insects could you make?
- Ask a grownup to help you cut an egg carton into sections: 2-3 bumps will work for most insects, but caterpillars and inchworms could have more!
- Using paint, markers, crayons, and stickers, decorate your insect. It could look like a real one or you might imagine a brand–new kind!
- To add on, use construction paper, glue, sticks, or any other natural materials to make wings or to build an insect habitat. Try building a leaf, a tree, or a beehive!
