SciWorks hosted Nanoscale Science and Technology Day on Wednesday, November 19, from 9:00 a.m. to Noon. Students from area schools and other visitors to the museum will explore hands-on stations where they will discover the many applications of Nanoscience in energy, medicine, electronics, and consumer products and learn about careers in this fascinating field.
Nanoscience is a rapidly-developing field that involves research to discover the behaviors and properties of materials with dimensions at the nanoscale – roughly 1-100 nanometers (nm). Nanotechnology refers to the way in which those discoveries are put to work.
Nanoscale Science and Technology Day is supported by Time Warner Cable’s “Connect a Million Minds” initiative, and Time Warner Cable is provided volunteers to assist with the event.
